The acne scars is a frustrating problem for patients and physicians. It has a high prevalence (up to 95% in studies) and can be psychologically devastating to patients with severe cases. The cause of acne scars is complex and poorly understood.

Mr. Fife has a special interest in the treatment of acne scars in patients of all races and skin types. He spent two years working in acne scars leading experts in the treatment of the Orange County, California and Chicago, IL. His training taught him that the acne scars of each patient can be treated the same way, each case must be carefully considered, dealt with the most appropriate and careful monitoring of side effects after surgery.

Dermatology and Surgery Center offers a comprehensive treatment of acne scars. The treatments offered are: Subcision, fractional CO2 laser, chemical peels, fillers injected under the scar, and mini-division of large scars. Mr. Fife scars in the last two years of experience in the treatment of acne scars in Orange County, California and Chicago, IL and has participated in clinical trials of various treatments for acne. During the consultation with Dr. Fife, their scars are classified as specific (inventory, monitoring, ice, hypopigmented, etc.) and a treatment plan tailored to your specific skin and scarring, which can significantly improve the appearance of skin.
Fractional CO2 laser

Fractional lasers have revolutionized the treatment of acne scars. This involves the delivery of a laser beam that is divided into hundreds of small columns, which has small holes in the skin. Because these small wounds heal by laying of new collagen beneath the skin (a process called "remodeling of collagen), which can reduce the surface of the skin. For a video of fractional CO2 treatment, click here. Advantages over CO2 emissions from traditional resurfacing include a reduction in healing time and a slightly reduced risk of complications. As part of a complete takeover of acne treatment, laser resurfacing fractional skin can improve, which been damaged by severe acne before.
Subscision

Subscision is a good treatment for "renewable" or "basket" type of acne scars, which often have attachments that holds the base of the fibrous scar tissue in depth. After the surrounding skin is numbed by local anesthesia, a small needle is carefully inserted under the skin cut and the release of these attachments in the scar. During the process of healing, collagen remodeling and new collagen is produced below the scar, further improving the softness of the skin. Sometimes, a charge can be injected under scars subscision after the scar less visible and produce the desired results. Mr. Fife is a technical expert subscision, and was asked to conduct a clinical study subscision and injections to fill acne scars at Northwestern University.
Chemical Peel

Chemical peels work by producing a controlled wound in the upper layers of the skin, which is followed by a healing response that produces softer, smoother, younger skin. Superficial chemical peels are useful for reducing signs of aging such as fine lines, but can also be used to treat brown spots, melasma, acne, acne scars and actinic keratoses. Superficial chemical peels are safe for all skin types, including ethnic skin. There is virtually no downtime after the skins of this type.

Chemical peels are used in two ways for acne scars:

1. The first method is the technique of the Cross, which is a small amount of the high concentration of trichloroacetic acid (TCA) directly in acne scars, creating a wound. The collagen and remodeling of the healing process that results can soften the skin on the site. Usually require multiple treatments.
2. The second method is a chemical peel my face, where a low concentration of TCA, Jessner, salicylic acid or glycolic acid. Rejuvenates the skin as it heals.
